Hello! My name is Lauren Ell. I am born and raised in Southern California and have been living in Sweden for over four years. I am affiliated with US-based organizations Vasa Order of America and Sons of Norway. I attended Swedish language camp, Sjölunden, in Minnesota for four summers during my high school years and then lived in Älmhult, Sweden, for ten months as a Rotary International Youth Exchange student during 2006-2007. I am back in Sweden again, now in the far north, living with my Swedish partner. Thank you for reading!

Hello! I am born and mostly raised in the Stockholm region where my daughters were also born. Additionally I lived a number of years in northern Sweden during my childhood. My employer, many years ago, asked me and my wife to relocate to the Washington DC area for two years, but we ended up being there for twenty years. My my wife and I returned to Stockholm in 2019 in conjunction with our youngest daughter graduating from college and accepting a job in Sweden. I am currently focusing on taking care of the administrative and practical issues associated with moving from the US and returning to Sweden after so many years abroad, plus finding a part time job.

My connection to Sweden is that I am a Swedish born abroad as my mother’s side of the family resides in Gothenburg, Sweden. I currently work for the local government doing Accounting. My hobbies include spending time with family and friends, hiking, spending time in nature, going on adventures, trying new foods/drinks/things, and volunteering to give back to my community and my school.
