A common question from Americans living in Sweden who are planning to visit the homeland is what items they should purchase to bring back to Sweden. Here are a number of items that Americans living in Sweden have recommended.
- General medicines – Aspirin, Paracetamol, Sudafed, Tums, Pepto Bismol, Imodium, Nyquil, Advil, Tylenol, as well as vitamins
- Baking ingredients – vanilla extract, chocolate chips, maple syrup, pecan halves, etc.
- Electric tooth brush replacement head
- Beauty products from stores like Sephora
- Shoes
- Pants, such as Levi jeans
- Hair care products
- Craft items from stores like Michael’s
- Doderant
- Dryer sheets
However, many Americans tend to not fret over purchasing items in the U.S. considering many items can be ordered online or purchased at American-oriented stores in Stockholm and other large cities. The prices on these items tend to be marked up, though, so some Americans try to purchase what they can when in the United States in order to pay a cheaper rate.
